Friday Finds: Artists, Artists, Everywhere!

Happy Friday everyone~
Is anyone else enjoying this great fall weather? If it could not get any colder than this, we would be happy happy decorators. :)

We thought today would be a great day to feature out artist friend's & their artwork/links we have listed to the right. We have made it a point to only list artist's that we personally know & love their work, or have contacted us & we love their work. We take great pride in helping get the word out about unique artist's -

Michael received his BFA in glassblowing from Salisbury University in May of 2002. While studying glassblowing at Salisbury University, Michael began assistant teaching in his junior year and continued teaching there after graduation until the summer of 2006.

Having relocated to his home town in Southern Maryland, Michael now teaches multi level glass classes in the Washington, DC Metro Area.

Michael has trained with many famous glassblowers including the likes of Elio Quarisa, Rick Schneider, Jay Riviello, Matt Urban and Bob Park. He shows and sells his work in many galleries throughout the Mid-Atlantic United States.

Most notably Mike has just been commissioned by the Smithsonian to make Venetian style goblets, to be exhibited and for sale through the Smithsonian's Gallery store. To view or purchase these goblets, you may find his work at the James Renwick Gallery for American Craft Located in Washington DC.

Linda Plaisted is a classically-trained painter, photographer and mixed media artist who has exhibited her work in galleries and museums throughout North America. Her work is held in private and corporate collections worldwide.

Each piece of artwork she creates is layered by hand with images she has captured in her photographs, drawings, paintings and collected ephemera.

Her delight in nature and the unique ability to conjure mood from the simplest of compositions is evident in her work.

Amelia:
* was born in 1978 in Silver Spring, Maryland.
* resides amist skyscrapers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
* received BFA from Corcoran College of Art & Design.
* worked in animal welfare for six years, hence the six slug roomates. {her kitty cats}

And last, but certainly not least, is Aerin Adamson's breathtaking photography of Africa. "These photographs were taken during an overland expedition beginning in Tanzania and ending in South Africa. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was not on the itinerary, but the situation there is an African problem and what happens in the DRC has a reverb effect throughout the entire continent."
