Dandy Chandy Tuesday ~ Stream Suspension Light

First, I just wanted to say as you may have noticed Primed4Design has been on a little haitus. Work and life just always get in the way of having fun! Chrys and I noticed that our blog is getting over 400 hits a day even when we do not post which is just amazing!!! We have years of great content for the home for people to search that people are still finding via google, etc. We have just been on a little break, but are hoping to get back to posting as much as possible!

On to the gorgeous chandy above: 
WOW! There are times when something may be WAY out of your price range, but it still never hurts to dream, right? I picture this chandelier over a huge, gorgeous natural wood dining table. This chandelier is an absolute work of art!

The Stream suspension light is hand made, in Florence and Sicily, by some of Italy's best artisans for metal and welding work; Stream's design exploits the physical characteristics of the materials used to envelope a room in a unique, immersive light. Over seven kilometers of metal chain appear to float down from the undulating nickel-plated frame. These cascading tiers project a streaking, yet tranquil, shadow throughout the space.

Dandy Chandy Tuesday ~ Pressed Glass Chandelier

Gorgeous, gorgeous pressed glass chandelier from the sculptor Elizabeth Lyons. From her website:

As an award-winning sculptor and glass artist, Elizabeth Lyons brings her unique vision to her chandeliers and sconces. Lyons was inspired by forms found in nature and by the specific, formal qualities of the materials: glass and steel. The structures' geometric forms in steel are juxtaposed with organic shapes hand-blown and sculpted in glass. Each fixture is a balance of masculine and feminine qualities.

“I like the idea of creating beautiful sculptural objects that have a purpose in peoples’ lives. A chandelier should glow and at the same time cast beautiful light throughout the space.”

All of Lyons’ chandeliers and lighting are designed and created by hand in her Rochester, NY studio. These custom works are available directly through the studio.

Wow, imagine swimming here at Volk Estates ~ Gerald Ford's home in Dallas, Texas. Those blue chandeliers are to die for, aren't they?! Think of how many unused rooms like this there are out there in this world. Share the wealth people, geez! :)

The Forge ~ Amazing Miami Landmark

When deciding where to have dinner for my sister Lindsey's bachelorette party down here in Miami, my friend Reniel who grew up here in Miami said of all places to go to, take her to The Forge. New Yorkers in Miami...watch out! It was quite an interesting weekend to say the least.

We got the private room (shown above) which was absolutely amazing. Luckily I told them it was a special event, so they set aside the room for us (no extra rental room charge, I liked that very MUCHO). The chandeliers in this room and throughout the whole restaurant were to die for, and so was the food. Check out the slideshow of photos of this breathtaking restaurant here.

Also if you check out the table, the waiter said it was actually made from one whole tree trunk. I just love the masculine wood table mixed with the feminine crystal chandeliers.

Sometimes you just have to save up and spend your night somewhere fancy. It's ALWAYS worth it! :)

The Cherry Blossom Festival is starting here in DC and there are very few designs that can really capture the beauty of these trees....until I saw this!

Wow. This is seriously the coolest/easiest DIY Project I've seen in a long time. Head over here to Shelterness and follow the directions on how to make these very pretty chandelier/lanterns made out of yarn. It doesn't look like you can put lights in them per say, but perfect decorations for a DIY wedding idea, for your home, or for a birthday party.

...I will have a really large dining room and have the space to have this very beautiful, simple, angular table coexist with this gorgeous string lighting (both from Luminaire) and my life will be complete. Sometimes opposites attract, and it can be like fireworks!

I walked in today to find this gorgeous, absolutely large chandelier decal up in the lobby of my work building here in Miami. It probably about 8-9 feet tall!

I really do love Miami! I think it's a sign I'm supposed to be here since I have a slight obsession with chandeliers. ;)

Dandy Chandy Tuesday ~ Recycled Glass Chandelier

I spotted this funky chandelier at Art Basel down here in Miami last week. It's made out of different art glasses and vases, and the one vase is actually functioning with water and a flower sticking out of it. It also has a bowl that is holding a few pieces of fruit. It's as if a still life painting came to life in the form of a chandelier! :)
