Inspired Friday ~ What Inspires You?

Let today be the day you take note of things that inspire you. Be it love, fashion, nature, your children, the beach, a fun color, anything you can think of that brings you inspiration today, and apply it to your home.

Have photos of your children you need to frame and put around your home today? Do it!

Have a grey and yellow skirt that you just love? Find a pillow for your home based on it!

Live near the beach? Go gather some shells and put them in a beautiful dish or clear vase!

Do something today that inspires you, and bring it into your home! Happy Decorating!

Inspired Friday ~ Fall Inspiration

Fall is here for all of you up north! This will be my first time in Miami for the fall/winter, and while I am really looking forward to being on the beach this winter, I really will miss fall. It's the perfect time of year weather wise, and the leaves change to various colors of red, orange, yellow, green, and brown.

If you want to bring fall into your home right now adding warmth, richness, and elegance ~ think accessories and wall paint. The accessories you can bring out in the fall/winter. The wall paint will last years if you just take a cue from any of the fall colors, you can have a nicely warm toned room you will love for years to come.

What girl doesn't love a little bit of shiny sparkle in their lives?! The silver bangle above from Tiffany's is the perfect example of silver's simplicity, shine and elegance at it's best. You can directly translate silver's simplicity, shine and elegance into any room in your home by using mirrors, lamps, vases, trays and other accent pieces. Inspired Friday ~ Colorful India

The colors of India are so vibrant and gorgeous. Particularly Sari's, which is a strip of unstitched cloth that is draped over the body in various styles. It is popular in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Burma, and Malaysia. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder baring the midriff. The sari developed as a garment of its own in both South and North India at around the same time, and is in popular culture an epitome of Indian culture.

If you want to bring colorful, bold, worldly bohemian luxury to your home, here are some photos that we find very inspiring. Don't be afraid to go big with color. Happy Decorating!

Inspired Friday ~ Seeing Stripes

It really is amazing how various intricate patterns and shapes occur in nature. The zebra (shown above) is a great example of how nature and design come together. Inspired Friday ~ White & Romance

Having just returned from Houston where I helped my lovely little sister pick out wedding dresses (& being really inspired by it), we are going to do something different here at Primed4Design every Friday.

So each Friday we will take an inspiration ~ a gorgeous dress, a photo, a piece of art, a texture, anything really ~ and find home/decor images that reflect the inspiration.

The wonderful thing about interior design and decorating is that it is influenced by culture, fashion, history, nature, trends and just about anything in life. Influences for creativity are all around you to bring into your home.
